THE STEPHEN FOSTER STORY (for the role of STEPHEN FOSTER)
Now in its 64th Season, The Stephen Foster Drama Association is committed to providing a quality entertainment experience while sustaining the legacy and music of America’s first great composer, Stephen Collins Foster and the African American experience that influenced his life and career. The amphitheater, located in historic Bardstown – voted The Most Beautiful Small Town in America by Rand McNally & USA Today - is a very special resource for the productions, providing a beautiful setting for outdoor theatre. In the 2023 season, The SFDA will present a rotating repertory season of The Stephen Foster Story, The Songs of Stephen Foster and Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella.

White male; 18-35, Lyric Baritone to G. Demanding role for a charismatic singing actor. A young poet, musician and genius song-writer, battling the needs of a stable career with his love life and the desire to write great music in a society that doesn't value the craft. Songs include: Oh! Susanna, My Old Kentucky Home, Beautiful Dreamer, Ring! Ring! the Banjo and more. Vocal demands are that of the leading men of the golden age of musical theatre. This actor will also play or understudy role/s in R&H's Cinderella and the matinee offering The Songs of Stephen Foster which play in rep.

Rate of Pay / Contract:
400/wk min + housing (5 performances per week max)
