I realize that this is off-topic, so Mods please feel free to move it.  The off-topic board doesn't seem to get much traffic lately.  Before my March trip, I read about these crimes & murders on Reddit, so knew to be careful.  With Spring & Summer seasons bringing more tourists to NYC though, it may be good for queer tourists who may not be aware to be forewarned. Forewarned is for-armed.
