I heard my sister say that trans people are an abomination to God. How can you pretend to respect, admire, even be around these people when they're your family.
How can you stand to have someone that dumb, hateful and ignorant in your own family? Also, how can you stand to live in Florida with an insane fascist dictator? I'm genuinely curious on both.
Some people say you shouldn't let politics and religion interfere with family, but sorry can't help it. When you have voted for Dump, twice, and you espouse Christianity, I'm done with them, and it hurts.

Let's see. Florida has no state income tax. It has beautiful beaches and for the most part very nice weather. There are plenty of things to do like Disney, Universal, Kennedy Space Center and this time of year MLB has spring training games across the state. While states like NY and California are losing population, Florida is gaining people so they must be doing something correct. No state is perfect, but I can think of a lot worse places to live in this country.
Seriously, I would think a proper education and acceptance for the realities of life would be more important than sunshine and rollercoasters.
Funny how 26% of the population of Florida (2020 census) is Latino. Guess they missed the email that Florida is awful for POC. BTW - My wife is Asian-American and would love to retire in Florida someday. The reality of life is that this country has come a long way about people being gay than 15-20 years ago. Are there still people who are hateful to the gay community, sadly yes. All you can do is enact laws and enforce them in regard to discrimination. I think I can speak for the majority of people that when it comes to a state to live in you are not going to worry about every law the state has on the books. You are going to look into things that matter most to your family because they are the most important people in your life. If that is sunshine and roller-coasters, that is your choice. Finally, gay and trans people have choices like the rest of us. They get to determine what is best for them and if Florida sucks due to their laws in their opinion don't live there. Just curious, what state would you recommend for gay and trans people. Have a nice day. Heading out on vacation in a couple of days so if I am not on here, I am not "ghosting" anyone.
Husband and I were stationed in Pensacola with the Navy for six years in the early 1970's. This was during the Vietnam War Era. Our experiences there were wonderful and we made many friends, both military and civilian. We share fond memories of our service in Florida. There was an active and vibrant LGBTQ community that seemed to be welcomed by all. We have never returned to the Sunshine State, so I can't speak for the environment as it is now, except as I learn from the press. But the current climate is certainly not what I remember, and that's a disappointment.
