Hosts Brooke Shields and Brad Oscar welcomed celebrities, Broadway greats, philanthropy influencers and the New York elite to celebrate the 12th Annual Make Believe on Broadway, on November 14 at the Shubert Theatre. The evening showcased Broadway and Hollywood's brightest stars as they united in a benefit performance on behalf of Only Make Believe, a non-profit that brings the magic of theater to children in hospitals and care facilities.

Dena Hammerstein, Founder of Only Make Believe and the President of James Hammerstein Productions along with Actor Sir Ian McKellan were on-hand at the Empire State Building for a lighting ceremony on Monday, November 1st in anticipation of the Only Make Believe Gala later that evening. The Empire State Building, the world's most famous office building, glowed brightly in the colors of Only Make Believe - purple, blue and yellow - in celebration of their 11th Anniversary.

Hosted by Sir Ian McKellen, last night, November 1, the Only Make Believe Gala featured a number of performances including the casts of Memphis, the Cast of Billy Elliot: The Musical, and others. Also on-hand was Josh Lucas, James Wesley, Brad Oscar, Matthew Settle, Seth Rudetsky, The Glamazons among others. Taboo star spreads his wings to perform in concerts at the Oak Room.

The thing that always strikes me about Euan Morton, from his New York debut in Taboo to his Obie-winning stint in Measure For Pleasure and various other plays, musicals, concerts and cabarets, is that the guy seems incapable of expressing a dishonest emotion.  While some performers may dazzle you with their creativity or their exceptional craft, Morton draws you in with a comforting safety that makes artistry out of sincerity.  He opens his four-week run at The Oak Room (through March 29th), titled Here and Now, with Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley's 'Pure Imagination,' glowing with a naturally boyish earnestness and a gentle smile.

Only Make Believe honored the Sesame Workshop with the first annual Only Make Believe Community Award and Bon Jovi founding member and keyboardist David Bryan with the James Hammerstein Award at their 7th Annual Gala on Monday November 5 at 7PM at the Millennium Hotel's Hudson Theatre.
