The Emanon Players of Absegami High School will be presenting the musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors on Thursday, November 1st and Friday, November 2nd at 6:30 PM and on Saturday, November 3rd at 2:00 PM. Originally based on the B-Movie horror film of the 1960s, Little Shop of Horrors is a deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical which has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty And The Beast, and Aladdin) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.

Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack for the Walt Disney Animation Studios film 'Ralph Breaks the Internet' on Nov. 16. The soundtrack features original songs 'A Place Called Slaughter Race' performed in the film by Sarah Silverman and Gal Gadot; 'Zero,' written and performed by Imagine Dragons; score by composer Henry Jackman ('Wreck-It Ralph,' 'Captain America: Civil War,' 'Big Hero 6'), and 'In This Place,' a pop version of 'A Place Called Slaughter Race,' performed by Julia Michaels. Directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnston, produced by Clark Spencer and featuring the voices of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Gal Gadot and Taraji P. The Verdi Chorus 35th anniversary season culminates with its Fall 2018 concert Passione! Opera! for two performances only at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Monica on November 10 and 11 led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum. As the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus, this program, which marks the end of a landmark year for the company, will feature selections from three Verdi operas - Aida, Don Carlo, and the famed chorus "Va, pensiero," from Nabucco, as well as operatic sequences from Boito's Mefistofele, Saint-Saens' Samson and Delilah, Catalani's La Wally and Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffmann.

As many theatre fans know, Disney isn't short of staged adaptions based on their beloved family films. Starting in the 90s with Beauty and the Beast, Disney has gone on to produce shows such as The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Mary Poppins, Frozen, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Freaky Friday (the later two sadly never made the leap to Broadway), with shows such as The Jungle Book, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Hercules currently in development. In 2014 Disney mounted it's Arabian fairy tale Aladdin on Broadway. Now, 4 short years later, Aladdin has embarked on its first national tour, making a two week stop here in Louisville.
