New York/Australian jazz pianist Matt Baker debuts at Chelsea Table + Stage with a brand new version of his project, "A Rhapsody of Gershwin".

Presenting a whole new spin on the music of one of America's most celebrated composers, this is all Gershwin interpreted like never before, with an all-star line-up from the heart of New York's jazz scene including Grammy nominated vocalist Nicole Zuraitis and Trumpeter/Vocalist extraordinaire Benny Benack III.

The project brings Rhapsody in Blue to the jazz stage, featuring excerpts of the original piano score arranged and accompanied by the trio, with voice singing some of the classic orchestral themes throughout. The performance opens with the Rhapsody's true classical-esque beginning and closes with its grand, majestic ending.

The show comprises music from Crazy for You, Porgy and Bess, Shall We Dance, An American in Paris and Concerto in F, plus other exciting gems from the classical and popular worlds of George Gershwin.

Some of the program includes specifically: A Foggy Day, The Man I love, But Not For Me, Prelude II, They Can't Take That Away From Me, Summertime, I've Got A Crush On You, an 'I Got Rhythm/Fascinating Rhythm' medley, plus a selection of themes from the Concerto in F and Rhapsody, all together in an exciting, swinging and entertaining program.
